Venetian's Palazzo Building Still Under Heavy Construction

by juliana | October 25, 2007 at 4:47 PM | 1 Comment

Vegas Rex has posted some recent pics of the new Palazzo Hotel and Casino, a companion tower with 3,000+ rooms to the Venetian in Vegas.

While Venetian folk (that would be the Las Vegas Sands Corp.) are predicting a year-end opening, Vegas Rex is skeptical.

Even though the shell is mostly finished, peering inside, it doesn't appear that they are even close to having the inside built out. The interior is still waaaaaay under construction, and they have thousands of rooms to make habitable. I have never seen a building progress from its current state to "complete" in 2 months.

But this doesn't stop the hype machine from chugging along. We even saw an TV ad for the Palazzo the other day. Then again this is Vegas. Stuff goes up pretty quickly here.

On another note, we're big fans of the Venetian but we hated the Venezia tower and we're not too fond on this monstrous Palazzo addition. We used to like it when the Venetian was a smallish hotel attraction. Now its like a cheesy Italian-themed amusement park. Let's just hope the pool for this new building gets some sun.

  1. Um

You can book on their website starting Dec. 20 ($199 for standard rooms).  So I would say soft opening is going to happen December 20th without a doubt.
