The W Hotel Phoenix is Cancelled
October 2, 2007 at 9:47 AM | 0 Comments

Andrew Calvo, the blogger behind Passions of a Zealot tipped us off that the W Hotel Phoenix has been cancelled. He writes:
The developers agreement with Starwood hotel expired on July 30th if ground was not broken - and it wasn't. The developers (the owners of the Phoenix Suns) got wrapped up in a lawsuit which still has not been resolved yet - thus holding back the project - and simultaneously canceling the deal with Starwood.
Of course, that doesn't mean a W Hotel won't ever open in Phoenix. If the developers can settle the lawsuit and get permission to build the building, Calvo thinks that a W Phoenix might rise afterall from these ashes. That is, unless it goes the way of W Las Vegas.
