Rooms open up on January 28th
Most of the rooms will offer large balconies with ocean, bay or city views and the walls will be decked in 1930s and 40s pin-up style photographs.
For high rollers, the 3,500 square- foot Presidential Suite features includes two master bedrooms, two living rooms, a dining area, kitchen, full bar, an entertainment room, and several outdoor decks with ocean views. And remember this place has the 259 condo units attached which are part of Paradiso.
But really, what the jet-setting crowd cares about is the nightlife since the original Gansevoort is pretty much all about that. The Gansevoort South will have its own 26,000-square-foot "rooftop retreat", which is a ginormous space.
A tropical oasis dotted with coco palm trees and whimsical cabanas, the rooftop features a 110-foot elevated swimming pool and Plunge bar and lounge. Soaring eighteen floors high, it will offer uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami.
For a quieter pool experience, there is a 40,000-square-foot semi-circular oceanfront pool plaza on the main level with an infinity-edge pool, oversized circular beds, cabanas, tented alcoves and a bar/restaurant. There's also the beach level or the beach club which has its own bar, seating area, cabanas, volleyball courts and fire pits. We wonder..do jet-setters play volleyball?
Rounding out the rest of amenities/services at the hotel are:
· DavidBartonGym + Spa: The 40,000-square-foot flagship location will include a spa, yoga studios, and private training.
· Philippe Chow: A two-story, 9,000-square-foot restaurant on the corner of Collins Avenue and 23rd Street serving contemporary Chinese cuisine.
· STK restaurant: The second location for the "trendsetting" Manhattan restaurant.
We have to say that judging from the pics on the website, this place looks pretty spectacular. We just hope it doesn't fall victim to partying wear and tear like its NYC counterpart did.
