Until recently we thought hotel loyalty programs were for Account Executives rolling their business travel points into a family vacation at a bland resort every year or two. However, funny thing happened when we started investigating these programs -- we found some of them are downright useful if you know how to cut through the red tape. This series is meant as a jumping off point to full fledged discussions on each loyalty program we feature. So comment, contribute, question, and cajole here.

Radisson Hotels is in the midst of completely overhauling their rewards program but the good news is that the new Goldpoints Plus will debut on October 28th so if you aren't a member yet, it won't be long to join the new program.

Some of the "enhancements" include earning more points and faster and redeeming more points at more properties and use your points at frequent flyer program.

WEBSITE: Radisson Goldpoints Plus.

MEMBER BENEFITS: You earn points and benefits at all Radisson properties which include its namesake brand, Regent Hotels, Park Plazas, Country Inns and Park Inns.

BOOKING BASICS: How to earn points here. As always, book through the hotel not any third-party booking site.

PARTNERS
Retail Partners: For now, you can earn points by shopping at a variety of places like TGIF's, Carlson Travel, Gap.com, BN.com, and Bestbuy.com. But they might be phasing these out with next month�s revamp.
Airline Parners:
Airline Partners include British Airways, United, Continental and Delta.

MILES: Yes. And you're in luck. Radisson has just announced a double miles promotion with United, American, Northwest and Air Canada's rewards clubs. If you are a member of these clubs and you stay at a Radisson, you get double-miles. Just present your program card at check-in.

CREDIT CARD: Visa (GoldPoints Plus).

REWARDS: 10 points per dollar. Free nights start at 15,000 points, up to 60,000 points at top properties. To earn miles, 1,000 points can be converted to 125 miles.

WHAT WE LIKED: Lets you earn 1,000 points with online reservations.

FINE PRINT: On October 28, Radission is revamping the program. Stay tuned.
