Cubicle Dreamin' is a feature in which we ask the hotel mavens to take some time out of their busy work day, surf the Internet, and tell us what hotel they wish they could beam themselves to right that very second--all on the slave driving companies dime, of course. Oh, like these people aren't surfing aimlessly anyway--at least now their purposeless clicking will be cobbled together into useful hotel stories--we hope. While sitting in my windowless office, I often scour the Internet...looking for places to escape to. Even if it's only for a few minutes, there's something about finding that spot...that destination...that getaway where you can imagine yourself napping between chapters and reading between fruity cocktails.

On a recent "brain escape" I wandered onto the Starwood Hotel website to discover a place far, far away that in an instant took all my dreariness and holiday weight gain away.
The Blue Palace in Crete, Greece is the ultimate destination for relaxation. With an award-winning spa, Blue Palace stands as one of Starwood top hotels. But I was disappointed to read that guests didn't always have the best experiences...
"The service isn't brilliant...The reception staff were polite but didn't put any particular effort into helping you beyond booking the hotel restaurants etc."
Hmmm...well, in this case, at least it was perfect for an afternoon checkout session.
