Got a craving for Paris in the spring? Then book now and you can get some tips for hotels that are a bit less overpriced than normal with a recent Guardian review of 20 Paris hotels under 100 pounds. That means signing up for a room for less than $200, and all within range of some of Paris's most famous attractions.

Top of the list was the Hotel des Arts in Montmartre, which apart from simple but reasonably-sized rooms is very welcoming: including a special "welcome from Caramel, a big, friendly labrador". The Hotel Therese makes it onto the list with its "calm luxury" and Hotel Britannique, near the Seine and Notre Dame, lies in a quiet leafy spot; plus all rooms "have fluffy bathrobes and flat-screen TVs". Check the list for more affordable Paris delights, and then head to the city of romance.
