The Beverly Wilshire Hotel has undergone several much-needed changes in the past couple of years, all of which have injected a rush of new life into the hotel.

First, they unveiled the BLVD restaurant--transforming the hotel's formerly stuffing dining room into a hip, see and be-seen type of place, popular amongst industry insiders for lunch. (We spied Larry King dining there one afternoon.)

Then the hotel renovated the back of the Wilshire-facing tower--transforming a dull bar and another dining area into the hip Wolfgang Puck eatery, Cut (pictured above) and bar, Sidebar. (We guess the cuisine and ambience make up for the brief monikers.) Also, all rooms are being completely renovated and the hotel's pool area has a new look with a new poolside restaurant and fully-equipped cabanas.

Now the hotel's officially dropping its Regent Hotels status and going public with the Four Seasons brand, although it has been a Four Seasons hotel for ten years or so.

The latest addition to the hotel, which actually opened in June, is The Spa.

More on The Spa (with pictures) after the jump.

The spa's entrance is adorned with famous movie quotes like "Go ahead. Make my day (at The Spa)" and "I wish I knew how to quit you (at The Spa) and of course, two quotes from the hotel's map-making film, "Pretty Woman."

Once you step beyond the reception area, you are met by a curved water wall with a gentle blue backlighting and a gigantic amethyst crystal geode which is breathtaking and at the same time reminds us of a superhero movie. Both men and women have separate changing rooms with plenty of lockers, showers, a steam room and vanity tables.

On the menu of treatments include massages, body treatments and facials--all of the standard variety. A nice touch? The tranquility room which is filled with single beds for you to rest on before or after your treatments for as long as you like.

Naturally, room rates here are going to be above $400 but if you are looking to do Beverly Hills celeb-style, this hotel has got prime location on Rodeo Drive and is next to celebrity shopping spots like Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

As the city of Beverly Hills gets a face-lift, and as hotels nearby pop-up and expand (Thompson Beverly Hillls, The Montage and the monstrous additions to the Beverly Hilton), the Beverly Wilshire is proving that it will be able to keep up with the competition.

But aside from all this, the hotel also prides itself on its customer service. Some examples? The BLVD chef routinely comes out to say hello to diners and there's never a shortage of valet men to park your car.
