Imagine the Best Western pulling off a sleek boutique-like look and pulling it off well. Such a thing exists, but one has to go to Rome to find it. It's the age old cliché after all, when in Rome....To be fair, the ArtDeco Hotel was recently bought by the Best Western chain so its not like the folks at BW came up with this one all on their own but they did the right thing by leaving the place in its original state. Sure, the name gives away the hotel design, but the place is full of more surprises.

Blogger and Italian travel guru, David Anderson refrained from being too selfish to let others know about this hot little Roman number:

It is one of my secret hideaways when traveling to Rome. I stayed at this hotel until we found our place in piazza Farnese. Originally it was a classic contemporary hotel with a few theme rooms. I have always been picky about my hotels and required a king size bed, not always easy to find. The Art Deco had a Francesina, which is a sleigh bed just larger than a queen.

The hotel keeps up a decent amount of rooms, 68 to be exact, yet the design remains original. Take the marble staircase if the old and rackety elevator scares you. And even though the "authentic" Italian food served in the hotel restaurant now has the Best Western brand tagged to it, rest assured the place remains family-owned and run.
