Viva Vegas: A Topless Revue, a Topless Pool and a Nap Room

September 21, 2006 at 3:29 PM | 0 Comments

It's no secret--we're obsessed with Vegas. So as an excuse for us to write more about Sin City while at the same time providing you with the latest news on Vegas hotels from deals to gossip to photos to shows to events, we present our Viva Vegas feature. Starting off this edition, here's a photo of Wynn Las Vegas that we took from a Southwest flight into Sin City.

More on what's shaking in Vegas, including deals and news, post-click

VIVA VEGAS DEAL
To experience a little bit of Old Vegas and we mean like the 80s Vegas, hit up Bally's for their Old Jubilee package. We're not pervy or anything but the Jubilee! show by Donn Arden at Bally's is the longest-running and top-rated topless revue in town. It's also annually rated the show with the Best Show Girls by Las Vegas Review-Journal. If you book the Jubille package you get two tickets and two free cocktails at the Tequila bar along with accommodations for about $183 a night, not including taxes.

Also worth checking out at Bally's, which for the most part is a so-so casino area, is the spa. This place features an entire room just for napping. Spa guests can relax before or after treatments in this room which features single beds with blankets, no lights and no annoying nature music. It's the best place to recuperate from an all-nighter so long as you didn't gamble away all of your money.

VIVA VEGAS HOTEL POOLS
The Mirage has opened up a new adults-only topless pool area called, Bare. My, my, not so subtle are these Vegas folks. Vegas Hotel Pools reports that the place features attractive servers and complementary treats like  frozen fruit, mini fruit smoothies and Popsicles. Also provided are  Evian misting bottles and iced towelsl. Keeping in tune with the jungle/animal life theme at the hotel, the dolphin pool featuring real dolphins is just a few feet away. Seriously, what will they think of next?

VIVA VEGAS DEVELOPMENT
The W Las Vegas is still moving forward with plans to build its hotel & residences. And after acquiring the ill-fated Las Ramblas/George Clooney lot, the hotel's development company, Edge Resorts, will be building a "complementary project" to the W Hotel, called Edge East. Still, it will be a while before W Hotel opens to the masses. Of course, that doesn't stop the sales office from offering pre-construction pricing on the condos, which start at $650,000. Sure, this place could easily sell out fast but we find it hard to shell out dough for something that we won't even seen until the end of the decade.

VIVA VEGAS NEWS
· ABC News is reporting that the Las Vegas monorail system has lost nearly 38 percent of riders for the months of July and August compared with last year. We love the monorail because its one of the few things in Vegas that's cheap. But we hate hate hate the inconvenient stops. To get to Wynn, you have to stop at the Convention Center and walk what feels like 3/4 of a mile. And in 115-degree heat that ain't do-able.
· Liza Minelli Freaks get ready. She's performing at the Luxor Hotel & Casino October 12-14.
· 80s rock 'n' roll dancing topless vampires at the Stratosphere is how the show "Bite Me" is described. Sounds like a stupid premise but actually features good acrobatics or so says the UNLV paper. Plus the cast meets and greets before the show in the lobby. If you're into that sort of gothic thing....
· Trump's Apprentice Hits Vegas: We can't decide what's worse. Trump building in Vegas or Season Six of "The Apprentice" or the winner of season six running the Las Vegas Trump Tower?
