Amazing Race 10 Hotel Update: Where to Stay After a 'Gross-Out'
The only good thing about the 10th installment of the Amazing Race is the fact that it is now on Sunday nights and that's only because Grey's Anatomy moved to Thursdays.
Other than that, there is really nothing "amazing" about the 10th season yet. It has all sorts of different teams of people (usually fitting the typical reality TV stereotypes) dashing around the world and competing in contests to win a $1 million. You would think after the 10th season, CBS would up the prize by at least a quarter-mill, no?
But we digress. Thanks to baby brother Jaunted, we got the full scoop for you on the kick-off episdoe.
The teams have what's called a "gross-out" in Beijing where they have to eat eyeballs out of a bowl of fish heads. They don't have time to stay overnight but if we had to eat fish eyes in Beijing, you can bet your bottom dollar we would find a way to stay at the Beijing Peninsula. We would need some serious pampering after that.
The hotel was recently pumped up with $34 million dollars of renovations and has probably the best shopping in town at The Peninsula Arcade which has 50 designer stores. There's also two fancy restaurants, a spa and a fitness center and the location is closeby to the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Beijing Railway Station.
The only thing that slightly skeeves us is the hotel's address on Goldfish Lane. After we're done eating fisheyes, that might turn us off a bit.
