USA Today's Kitty Beyonce has gotten in on the Gramercy Park Hotel craze by scoring an interview with game-changer Ian Schrager and asking him such hard-hitting questions like, "Why did you reject Paris Hilton from the Rose Bar?"

The paper also did a photo-shoot of the public areas and one of the hotel's suite which runs for somewhere between $800 - $2,500. One of our candid room photos, pictured below the USA Today shot is currently running for $550 but we snagged it for the intro rate of $250 by booking online. $550, $950, who can afford to stay at this hotel? Someone who can pay straight cash homey without batting an eyelash that's who. Someone like...Paris Hilton?

You decide: Is the Gramercy Park Hotel a scary gothic sex castle or a place to debate the cultural influence of Jean-Michael Basquiat? More importantly, if you pay $2500 a night will Schrager allow you to scribble on the walls for the sake of art?

    You got one of the worst rooms unfortunately- the #14s are to be avoided- as are #15 ands #16 rooms. 14s and 16s are basically the only double doubles in the hotel and face the "Courtyard" (otherwise known as the airshaft).

    USA Today got the #5 corner suite- which is arguably the best room type. But there are better and bigger rooms in the hotel. And per your tub vs. shower debate- the #5 room only has a shower- albeit a nice one with a window in it. It is not a THOR type shower though, so don't worry if you are modest- has a film over the window.

    Curious you made no comments regarding the TVs.
    I go with Gothic Sex Castle, with a tab of acid on your pillow.

    we did mention the TV back during liveblogging:

    The room features a black, wall-mounted flat-screen LG TV that swivels from side to side and pulls out.

    but i was too blinded by the mirrored English bar to turn the TV on. that, and i was afraid of a poltergeist.
