Out with the Rihga Royal, In with The London

Saying goodbye is never easy, but saying goodbye to the Rihga Royal Hotel just might be a little different.

The hotel will soon be turned into The London NYC which promises "unencumbered luxury" after a total redesign of the current space by Irish born designer, David Collins, who's also the author of the book, "New Hotel: Architecture and Design." Additionally, celeb chef Gordon Ramsey, the man behind the cooking reality show contest "Hell's Kitchen," will be setting up shop there as well when the hotel opens sometime this fall.

But until we can check out The London NYC in all its glory, specials at the currently existing Rihga Royal Hotel are worth a little New York Weekend. The rooms boast a starting square footage of 500 feet and many with views of Central Park (which is 5 blocks away.) The site says suites can be snagged for small prices starting at $279, but we couldn't find any of those when booking. However, they are running a special of $359 but its probably better to call the hotel first to see what other rates you can get, especially if there's still construction going on.
