The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel sits on the intersection of Highland and Hollywood Boulevards, the primo tourism spot where menacing characters dressed as your famous heroes, like Spidey, Darth Vader, Elmo and Bart Simpson will force you into taking their picture for a fee.

It's also next door to the Kodak Theater and plenty of shopping at the Highlands complex. If you're hoping to spot a celeb you can hit up the Lucky Strikes bowling lane which is a bar, a lounge and a bowling alley all in one. Nightclubs. too, are within walking distance.

But one guest, hoping for all this action and more, came away severely disappointed with the place. Aside froma an unhelpful staffer who couldn't remove some overcharges on the guest's bill, there was also a sleepless night:

At 4:30 am we were woken up by banging and sounds of moving furniture behind our wall in the bedroom area. It went on for a couple of hours. We could not figure out what the sounds were, but needless to say, we were awake very early that day. I called the front desk and ended up speaking to the night manager. He said he didn't know what it could be, but offered 2 breakfast vouchers- WOW, that was really nice LOL!!! We were suppose to stay another night, but opted to check-out. They couldn't even offer another room because it was sold out. Come to find out, behind our room was a conference room and they were setting up for an early morning meeting, too bad for us.

Conference rooms behind guestrooms are never a good idea. Imagine if the loud noises had been coming from the guestroom during your all-important business presentation.
