The End of Summer Deals: Mandarin Oriental's 'Fantastic' Rate

As summer winds down, hotels are offering their last helping of deals. This week we'll be letting you know where you can get a discounted stay before Labor Day. But remember, rates are subject to change.

We had to rub our eyes to make sure we hadn't been staring at our computer too long when we saw the Mandarin Oriental New York's "fantastic" rates, offered from now through Sept. 10.

We were in disbelief because the rate for a deluxe room was listed at $699, down a whopping $30 from the hotel's  standard rate. And there's no extras in this room price like breakfast for two or anything. Nope, that's the final price.

True, this is a five-star luxury hotel in the Time Warner Center across from Central Park so it's bound to be expensive. But if you want to stay here, you're better off booking the hotel's internet rate at $569 a night for a deluxe room.
