Breaking News: Kimpton Hotel Not Offering Free WiFi

Say it ain't so, Kimpton.

Today we sauntered into 70 Park Avenue in New York for some air-conditioning and free WiFi but we were taken aback when the front desk informed us that the hotel no longer has free WiFi. Instead they are charging $10.95 for 24 hours.

Of course, this does not bode well for Kimpton since we placed them on our Best WiFi Hotel list for 2006. Apparently, the policy at this hotel has been in place for five months but if you are a Kimpton InTouch member or have stayed at a Kimpton hotel recently, they will waive the charge.

We are still trying to uncover all we can about this but for now, 70 Park Ave. is not offering free WiFi.
