If you didn't know, The Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas is closing next year and will be demolished to make way for the ginormous Echelon Place resort.

This is probably why the hotel decided to go out with a bang, recently hosting a swingers convention. Yup, 3,000 people gathered over the weekend at the Stardust for the annual Lifestyles conference, "a five-day, $700-per-couple event that offers a mix of seminars, socializing and sex."

There were "hospitality suites" open in the hotel for couples to have sex, one of which held more than a dozen couples...er...swinging, including one who wanted to watch the action at "close range." (No word on whether or not Soccer Youths were also staying there.)

Now swinging might seem like fun but its pretty different from an orgy. Swinging involves married people and married people usually mean old people. Indeed, the Lifestyles conference organizer is a ripe 72. Most of the attendees themselves were middle-aged. And just in case you needed to be reminded, sex toys and old people don't mix.

At one seminar, several women were overcome as the presenter demonstrated a sexual device - one passed out in the packed room.

So the seminars may have been helpful for married folks who want to broaden their sexual horizons, if they didn't pass out first that is. But we don't care if the hotel is closing or if its Vegas or what, old people hotel-suite-hopping for swinger sex is just plain gross.
