Hotel Blog Watch: Fake Luxor Hotel Blog

In continuing our crusade to keep you informed about hotel blogs--blogs written by hotel employees (both the disgruntled and the cheerleading kind), hotel management and sometimes, live-in hotel guests--we thought it only fair we should warn you of the darker side of hotel blogs.
Take for example the Luxor Hotel "blog." This site shows up in the Blog search on Yahoo! and even has the word "blog" scribbled in across the top page. But look closely and you will see that all of the posts are just the first few sentences from news articles and other links that involve the words Luxor Hotel and Las Vegas.
In fact, some of these descriptions are cut off mid-sentence. The "blog" is also populated with a lot of ads for the hotel of course, but also for other Vegas properties. The blog does not appear to have any affilation with the actual Luxor Hotel whatsoever. Who is behind the blog? Not a clue.
Another giveaway is the copyright at the bottom of the page that says Luxor Hotel Las Vegas, not MGM Mirage. It is common knowledge that MGM Mirage owns the hotel and puts their name on all of its properties' websites, but their name is totally absent from this site, so that should tell you something.
Essentially, the blog appears to be vaporware and we couldn't find any real information about what the hotel is actually like or who was "writing" this blog. On the other hand, if you are tracking how often the Luxor Hotel is mentioned in the news, you have a ready database of articles at this site, but you could always do that through Google News.
