Shire Hotels Offers Free WiFi

A tipster let us know that Shire Hotels in the UK offers free WiFi to its guests throughout the hotels, even in the rooms. Since getting WiFi in Europe is always tricky, knowing that this hotel chain guarantees it takes a load off our minds. Consider them "Kimpton UK" until we hear different.
Guests at Shire Hotels need never be out of touch again, whether on business or leisure, with Shire Hotels this month becoming the first in the UK to offer free wireless Internet access throughout all areas of their hotels, including guest rooms.
Now, residents can surf the Internet or check emails via a POP account or VPN, using a personal password provided complimentary by Shire Hotels.
Non-residents, or non-guests, can still access the network but have to pay a fee.
Shire Hotels has locations in Penrith, Burnley, Leeds, Blackburn, Knutsford, Kettering, Bristol and Fareham, not exactly the UK destinations you were planning on hitting up. However, they are situated "close to main road networks yet ideally situated in order to explore some of England's most historic sites and picturesque countryside."
And as Kimpton Hotels offers free wine-tasting in their lobbies, this place offers..."roaring log fires." Hmm, so maybe this hotel isn't quite like Kimpton.
