St. Regis Butlers Go Wireless

June 8, 2006 at 10:10 AM | 0 Comments

It's nice to have a butler at your beck and call, but wouldn't it be nice to order them around by e-mail as well?

Starwood's St. Regis hotels have already taken the personal concierge concept of upscale boutique hotels and rolled it out across a chain. When you check in, you get access to a concierge butler, who functions as a personal assistant.

Now they are going one step further by making the butler service wireless. Guests can now fire off orders without even opening their mouth. While sitting in a snoozer of a meeting, for instance, they can tell their personal butler to send champagne to the room, schedule a massage, and make dinner reservations.

"For more than 100 years, the St. Regis has provided exceptional hospitality service to its guests," said Kerry Hatch, President of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. "This new service brings the traditional St. Regis guest experience into the digital age, but more importantly it enhances our ability to provide the peace of mind guests have come to expect from St. Regis Hotels and Resorts."

Nothing says "peace of mind" like the ability to offload menial tasks onto somebody else--especially when you can do it by just moving two thumbs across your Blackberry.
