Nothing is more frustrating than an unfulfilled promise for free Wifi access.

Sitting there with your laptop and dancing around your hotel room in desperate attempt for a signal, any signal. Such is the case in New Orleans which apparently has city-wide free wireless internet. But the signal is not to be found according to the manager of Hotel Monteleone, Andrea Morton:

Everyone thinks the free service is working, somewhere. We're just not exactly sure where.

The hotel used to offer free service but now charges a $10.00 fee; a fee which subsequently doesn't guarantee finding that elusive signal.

The beautiful historic Hotel Monteleone suffered nine feet of water destruction and is still dealing with the aftermath. So when you travel to the city, be sure to have some back-up internet plan.
