Everyone knows hotels ain't cool unless they got a pool. But now hotels are striving to make a poolside bar the center of their nightlife scene.

Sherman Travel has put together a list of Top 10 U.S. Hotel Pool Bars and since we know the regulars (Hotel Gansevoort, Standard LA), this week we are taking a look at some lesser-known spots.

Starting with The Hotel in Miami. This art deco hotel overlooks Ocean Drive and its rooftop pool/bar/lounge, Spire, has wide-open Atlantic ocean views. Restored back in 1998 under the design eye of fashion designer Todd Oldham, the hotel has 53 rooms and suites. Perhaps most notable about the hotel is the old neon sign atop the building which says "The Tiffany" (the hotel's original name.) Despite a name change, the sign has become famous itself and remains part of the hotel.

As for the bar itself, guests say it's never crowded and the drink to try would be the mojitotini (a mojito martini infusion.) But if you want to do some laps, you might head for a local gym as the hotel pool is a tad on the small side.
