The small Irish town of Carlow is getting the country's very first gay hotel.

Cosmo Brown's Gay Resort Hotel will have 19 rooms, a club, and a bar. Already, the place is operating the club part of the property with the hotel part is expected to open by next month. Unfortunately, the townsfolk have put up a little bit of a fight about the hotel, calling it a joke and doubting that it will actually be able to stay in business.

But village drama aside, the place is on track to open and although there is not much else known about the hotel's services or amenities, gay people will certainly find this place welcoming:

"It's the whole shebang," [owner] Brian Berry concluded. "From the club to the hotel, right down to the menu, it's going to be gay."
