Travelodge's Remedy To The Anti-View
UK Travelodge's Room With a View give screen savers a whole new meaning.
Imagine waking up to a Caribbean sunset on a rainy London morning. But how could that be possible? Well, at the Travelodge's London City Airport they offer "window transfers", essentially posters with more eye-appeasing views that you stick on your room window.
According to the company's director of sleep:
Ninety-seven per cent of Brits said that a wonderful view makes them feel happier... so we thought it would be a nice idea to give our guests a choice of their favourite view.
Ahh, this makes so much sense. No one wants to look upon the parking lot, so we will just give them enlarged, translucent, tacky hotel art. But it works because the Brits love cheesy faux natural scenes like a Caribbean beach, the Northern Lights, and Niagara Falls.
This initiative begs the question, if you can't see the brick walled air-shaft out your window, does it really exist?
