W San Francisco Lets You Leave Cases of Beer

A friend of HotelChatter spent the weekend celebrating Cinco de Mayo at the W San Francisco and had some mixed feelings about the accomodations.
· Room small.
· Lots of things for sale, product placement which is a little annoying (but loved the Etch-a-Sketch.)
· Bliss spa products awesome.
· Bathroom door is see through!
· Water pressure ok, not great. Bed and linens all top-notch.
· Nice bay window that was really comft and cute, with pillows and blanket.
· Hallways actually almost too dark
On the other hand, our friend was actually thrilled with the W service since the check in/check out was a breeze and the concierge offered to check them in for their flights and print out boarding passes.
But the piece de resistance was probably the fact that the front desk held a case of beer leftover from a late night party for another friend to pick up--"They didn't make a stink, or look at us weird!" Party on, indeed.
Since HotelChatter was in San Fran the week before, we can offer some more tips about staying here like eating at the Thirsty Bear across the street for some great tapas, hitting up the MOMA/Metreon around the corner, and taking advantage of the free WiFi in the lobby (like most of the guests in town for Ad Tech were doing.)
However, if you are a baby boomer, the dark hallways, the darker elevators and the constantly loud W music will leave you very confused. As will beer cases stashed behind the front desk.
