A Soccer Widow's Getaway Hotel

Soccer (or Football) Widows--women whose husbands disappear for hours or days at a time during soccer games--will get respite from the World Cup games at the Linthwaite House Hotel in Cumbria, England, overlooking the Lake Windermere.

The sport supplements are being taken out of daily newspapers and instead of blanket TV coverage of the big games, guests will be offered a string of romantic movies on DVD like "Dirty Dancing" and "Pretty Woman."

Additionally, any staffer caught saying the word "football" will have to give the guests a free glass of champagne.

In an effort to be fair, we think the hotel should help women understand the game of soccer which is why we suggest a mandatory showing Ladybugs as well.
