When two different people describe the hotel you are going to stay in that night as "a hoot," you know you're in for something a little out of the ordinary.

At Ruby's Inn, near Bryce Canyon in Utah, you're sure to get more than you bargained for. Where else can you see cowboys roping cattle, then go check your e-mail by wi-fi in the room, then go for a moonlight hike through a national park?

Many large hotels have an unwritten rule that guests should be able to get everything they need without leaving the property; the owners want you to spend all your money in one place. Ruby's Inn takes that concept into overdrive. They've got so much on offer than it takes seven billboards on the road in to list all the amenities.

Ready? There's a post office, a one-hour photo finishing shop, a full grocery store, the only liquor store for miles, six gift shops, a gas station, garage, laundromat, car wash, rock museum, and a fake western jail for photo ops.

For activities, there are ATV rentals and trails, helicopter rides, horseback rides, mountain bike rentals, fishing licenses, cross-country ski equipment rentals, and nightly rodeos five months a year.

Okay, so it's a dressed-up motel at heart, but it's dressed up in its western Sunday best and even the smallest rooms will sleep four. Rates $52 to $176 depending on season and size--the latter for a family suite.
