When it opened, Andre Balazs' Standard Hollywood made a big impression on the Hollywood scene. The hotel and its infamous upside down sign was featured in "Sex and the City" when the girls took a trip to L.A. And who could forget when Frankie Muniz got "Punk'd" outside the place?

The hotel itself is famous for its design, funky barbershop Rudy's and the girl-in-the-box, but it's not the place you really want to sleep over at.

And the other Standard is in downtown Los Angeles and no rooftop pool can ever make that area cool.
