In the old days at The Hollywood Roosevelt Shirley Temple tapped dance on the stairway and Marilyn Monroe posed for her first-ever suntan ad on the hotel pool diving board.
After Jason Pomeranc rescued and re-habbed the place last spring, they installed the Tropicana Bar and the ultra-VIP bar Teddys (both run by Amanda Scheer-Demme) which fast became the
hottest places for celebs. Practically every important celeb gossip about Young Hollywood in 2005 happened here.
However, Scheer-Demme ultimately lost her contract with the hotel for favoring celebs over hotel guests, allowing underage drinking among celebs and just general disagreement with the hotel partners. Kid Rock beating up a fan outside probably didn't help either. When the next re-incarnation of the hotel's bar scene opens, we'll keep you updated on who shows up.
