Hotel Hype: Trump Jr. Does Desert

Since Donald Trump is battling to name streets after himself in Southern California, he sent his son Donny Jr. over to Palm Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates to start hyping up the Trump International Hotel & Tower.

Although construction is not to begin until later this year and the Fabergé Egg/Venus flytrap hybrid building won't be finished until 2009, the Trumps want you to know that this condo-tel is going to be the best thing that's ever happened to Dubai. Really it's going to be out of the world. It's gonna go straight to #1.

OK, well they didn't exactly say that but Donny did say that the place will be:

a residence that will be the pinnacle of 21st Century living.

The 48-story building will have 300 condo-tel rooms and then another 360 residential apartments. Residents and guests will have exclusive access to a private beach, a yacht club with tennis courts, a fitness center, swimming pools and gardens.

At the top of the building will be an observatory and restaurants with views of Dubai and the Arabian Gulf. The lobby of the building will also hold some retail space and the island's monorail service will connect directly to the Trump building.

And while we expected Donny to put out some insane statement about how great the place will be, it was actually one of their partners, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, who had this to say:

Once complete, it will be an inspirational landmark, an icon of Dubai and a representation of the Middle East: prosperous, dynamic and successful.

Yup, he's definitely been hanging around the Trumps too long.
