Unless there is an act of God, it is probably too late for a good deal in Cannes. So we are suggesting Aix-En-Provence, about a 45-minute train ride to Cannes.

The three star Hotel Royal Mirabeau has 95 rooms overlooking a golf course

with large bed or twin beds, equipped with satellite TV, minibar, air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer in the bathroom and separate toilet.

But what's important is that the place has rooms available during the festival week starting at about $100 a night. Since TripAdvisor has got nothing, if you end up staying here next week or have stayed here before, let us know the real scoop on the place.
