Where Stars Go to be Touched
Concierge.com recently took a Spaparazzi tour, finding the spas frequented by some of the world's most famous celebs.
On their list are eight spas found within hotels including The Bathhouse spa at Calistoga Ranch (where Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow broke off their engagement), the COMO Shambhala spa at Parrot Cay (where Julia Roberts like to relax) and Aroma Boma spa at Ulusaba in South Africa.
Editor-in-chief Peter Frank said that these spas obviously attract star wattage because of their great treatments and great amenities. "Celebs are good guides of where to go to get pampered. When it comes to luxury resorts, they can be good role models--they have their fingers on the pulse," he said. (We are sure it also helps to have gift certificates to hotel spas dropped into swag bags.)
Additionally, these spas differentiate themselves from the pack by using more innovative treatments and holistic approaches such as incorporating ingredients from the locale into the treatments. For example, the Calistoga Ranch uses wine and grape-based treatments thanks to its Napa Valley location.
While the report didn't confirm which treatments celebs opted for at the spas, you can bet that spa-phile Britney Spears and her hubby hit up Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain in Arizona for their signature Table Thai treatment.
Let's just hope that neither K-Fed or any other celeb pulled a Kevin Costner on their therapists.
