Room with an Anti-View: City Club

You know the scene. You open the door to your brand new hotel room, run over to the window, open the blinds and bam, you are hit with the anti-view. Maybe you are looking down a dirty alley, witnessing a drug deal, staring at an air shaft in the face, or seeing a brick wall. Whatever you are viewing it is not extremely pleasurable. Help out your fellow hotel mavens by uploading your anti-views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number with the not-so-easy-on-the-eyes view.

Despite our compliments on the amenities at the City Club Hotel this morning, we wanted to save the most glaring problem with the rooms for our Anti-View feature.

This was the view from our second room, room 804, although the view from the first smokey room, 508, was not that much favorable. Unless you get a room facing the street or on the top floor, this is the view from most rooms at the City Club.

Welcome to New York.

same view at fitzpatrick grand central

In February I stayed at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central hotel after being lured by an offer on Travelzoo.com.  I pretty much counted on NOT having a view, but what I didn't count on was the office next door having a view of me.  Imagine pretty much the same view as posted above but with office workers staring out them back at you.  It was creepy.
