How Rich People Spend a Day at the Beach

Ever hate it when you are trying to catch a wave and nothing seems to be coming your way? Well, if you are staying at the Four Seasons Resort Aviara in Carlsbad, Calif., ask the Surf Concierge what's up with that.
Or if you are on your first visit to California and you feel like you should do as the locals do, the surf concierge will teach you how to surf in two hours. For $95 a person, you get a lesson, wetsuit and surfboard to test your surfing skills.
The St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif., also has a surf concierge but they prefer to call him/her a surf butler who gives personalized surfing lessons.
The St. Reeg also offers the option of a has glorified pool boy, er...we mean Beach Butler who organizes your cabana, beach chairs, activities and dining options while tanning. However, these concierge/butlers are not cheap. Each go for $85 an hour.
At the Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla., Beach Concierges are available when you book the hotel's ritzy and expensive daytime use only Beach Bungalows.
For those looking for service on the beach but for cheap, the Sol Melia in Miami Beach, Fla., has Beach (and pool) Concierges who don't charge anything except for the standard $15 resort fee upon checkout.
