Swinging for the Fences
Since it is opening day, we thought it would be wise to point out a hotel related to baseball. No, not a place where you can buy steroids, but some nice digs during a visit to a foreign ballpark. We chose Baltimore's Oriole Park at Camden Yards, since it's a nice stadium in a town that we might not be visiting otherwise, save a hankering for crab cakes.
Henderson's Wharf Inn, in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore--it's the nice part that's not the mall-like Inner Harbor area--is the number one rated hotel in town. A former tobacco warehouse, rooms overlook the water, and it's only two miles or so to the stadium. The rooms themselves are brimming with fancy fixtures like vessel sinks and LCD tvs, plus, there's a comped bottle of wine upon arrival, which is appreciated considering rooms are about $255 a night.
Could the Inn be a second reason to visit Baltimore? Maybe. We'll see how soon we want those crab cakes.
