[Ed. Note: As promised, we have some amazingly detailed scoop on the Red Rock Resort & Spa opening party and Sting's concert. This place went all out for their opening and our spy has the first reviews on the rooms but sadly no pictures. Enjoy.]

The hotel is a cross between at Mandalay and an Ian Schrager-esque design. Comfy beds, overpriced minibar with the classy auto-tracking so when you take an item off the table for more than a few seconds, your room gets charged.

More Red Rock review after the jump.

My 14th floor room had a good view of the pool (but also the Las Vegas Beltway a.k.a. I-215 which is a loud and busy highway). You could definitely hear the loudest trucks from the room.

Amazing, fast wireless. $12.99 for 24 hours but no connection problems at all. Also an ethernet cable on the desk for the wirelessless.

Sweet 27" or so flatscreens directly in front of the bed and mini flat screens at the foot of the bathtubs. Separate stand up showers.

Fairly quiet in the rooms--heard some hall noise, but nothing from either of the neighboring rooms.

The bad is annoying phones with the huge LCD touchscreens. Tried for about 5 minutes to figure out how to darken the screen (it should automatically go dark when not in use). Finally, frustrated, threw the RR Canvas Tote bag over the phone to get rid of the annoying light. Also, with the shower knob turned all the way hot, water was only slightly above very warm.

Bed was comfy with nice duvet sheet, but during the night I got hot and the AC seemed to kick in at odd times. Have no idea where the thermostat is, but that's cause I was too buzzed on Red Bull/Vodka to get up and check during the night.

Was hanging out in T Bones restaurant,  talking to some folks right next to the big table where Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff were eating dinner. They weren't smiling. Saw Ian Schrager holding court. Sting did every one of his songs that you'd want him to (including the gem King of Pain). The AMAZING fireworks show reportedly cost more than $2 million for the fireworks alone.

Stood next to Robin Leach during most of the Sting concert and fireworks. Mr. Leach appeared to be some fat old man who brought his extremely HOT daughter to the event until: a.) Some guy came up to him and said, "How are you Mr. Leach?" b.) Mr. Leach began sucking face with his "hot daughter." For the record, she couldn't have been older than 28 or so and she was a total smokeshow.

Rande Gerber's club (Cherry) seemed pretty cool (I had to scale a low wall near the pool to get in since after the fireworks it was closed for a super-VIP party, but didn't see Rande or Cindy C.
