The James Hotel Chicago is probably still in its beta phase after opening exactly a month ago on March 19. But we haven't heard any buzz about it nor are there any reviews up on TripAdvisor.

So what's this place all about?

Right now, it's the sister property to the James Hotel Scottsdale, but the owners recently dumped it, saying the existing layout was not up to snuff for what they wanted to do with the hotel. (The hotel will now become a Mondrian.

Maybe James Chicago just off Miracle Mile will fare better. Formerly the Lenox Suites Hotel, now inside there's The Prime House--a restaurant helmed by chef David Burke, the J Bar, a spa, and a gym (since the founder of Equinox fitness centers, Danny Errico, is a partner of the hotel so you know the workout is gonna be good.)

Guestrooms are all suites with 42" flat screen plasma televisions, 300-thread count sheets, designer furniture, a dining niche, free wireless internet and a iPod/MP3 dock/stereo.

Rooms are pricey with a starting rate of $339 but if you love the joint that much, you can look into buying a piece of it. Yup, this is a condo-tel as well.

If you don't have that kind of bank, then buy James Hotel items for 25 percent off at the online store.
