A woman practically eaten alive by bedbugs--in our opinion anyways--has sued the New York resort that was infested with these most disgusting creatures.

The scene of the crime was the Nevele Hotel in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.

[Leslie Fox] said she noticed the lesions when she got up after their third night at the hotel.

"I was horrified to see all of those bites all over my body," Fox said....My skin felt as if it was on fire and I wanted to tear it off."

Fox suffered close to 500 bug bites. Yesterday, she held a press conference yesterday announcing she was suing the resort for $27 million as a result of the damage done to her body and mind. At the press conference she willingly showed large photos of her bug bites. (Ed. note: She has officially become the patron saint of all bed bug ninjas.)

The Nevele's lawyer has said that the hotel has not seen the lawsuit but that there has been ongoing treatment and inspection by pest control companies that will show the hotel is bug-free, at least now.

Yet bed bugs might be just the beginning of this hotel's woes. It has some of the worst reviews on TripAdvisor that we have ever seen, ranging from smelly hallways to no heat to undercooked food. Now, we feel dirty for having read some of them.

$27Million !!?! (none / 0)

While I agree bed bugs are absolutely horrible and gross and everything else, I think $27 million might be just a tiny bit excessive ...

She went back to the hotel! (none / 0)

The hotel lawyer is saying that the couple returned a few weeks later for five days. Fox says her husband had a speaking engagement there and she wanted to go with him. Oi, she may not be the patron saint of ninjas anymore. If i had bites that bad I would not even go near that same town again.

And ... (none / 0)

And I heard that the hotel offered her free room nights or money back when they heard about it - but she claimed she "would never stay" there again after her horrible experience. But she already had! Plus, she and her husband didn't even pay for the original reservation or stay - some company he was working for did.

This kind of crazy lawsuit just makes her look ridiculous and takes away from the actual bed-bug problem.
