Sunset Tower: "Half-Baked"
Just when we though the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles was making its way new information comes in courtesy of the New York Times.
In the paper's Check-in, Check-Out review, they notice the rooms lack a little bit of logic:
Even though the décor is understated and refined -- polished dark wood set off by brass, peach and silver linens, silk-covered lamps, and framed stills from classic movies on the walls -- why is the desk placed directly in front of the flat-screen television -- and why is there no desk chair? The glass-fronted shower would be a winner -- with its rainshower head and bench -- if the water had warmed beyond tepid. The minibar is stocked with top-shelf liquor and one lonely Snickers bar.
The room service also left a bad taste in the reporter's mouth because a bowl of oatmeal cost 16 bucks, along with 15 percent added gratuity and a $2.50 room service charge.
On the bright side, the pool has now opened and don't forget about the cozy rabbit warrens of the hotel's Argyle Spa.
