Kimpton Snaps Up Nine Zero
Some good news traveling winos and free WiFi junkies.
Kimpton Hotels continues its aggressive expansion campaign by buying the Nine Zero hotel in Boston. This will be the third Kimpton in the city, next to Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge and the Onyx Hotel in the Bulfinch Triangle.
No word on whether the Cloud Nine suite and its iris-scanner will remain.
Kimpton also announced that they would be buying the former The Mockingbird Hilton, in Dallas and turning it into a Hotel Palomar Dallas. The hotel will go under a complete renovation including all guestrooms, adding a full-service spa and creating a new restaurant. There may also be a second tower built for residences with retail space on the lower floor.
As we wrote about before Kimpton is opening a Hotel Palomar in Los Angeles, converting a former Doubletree.
