Hotel Doggy Bags for the Plane

Airlines have scaled back their food services (and no one is really complaining), but many travelers either go hungry, don't eat, or eat crap.
Seeing another opening for excellent customer service, some upscale hotels are helping out travelers who are sick of airport food and bagels.
Gourmet food from hotel restaurants can now be easily boxed or bagged. Imagine sitting on your flight from LA to NYC with
Pistachio-crusted blue fin tuna topped with shaved fennel and blood oranges. [Or] Prosciutto and burrata mozzarella on bone bread, garnished with arugula.
At the Peninsula Beverly Hills, legendary for its armoire chin-ups, you can grab a take-out box (that looks like a small and slim suitcase) of blue fin tuna, poached salmon and Cobb salad.
New York City's Plaza Athenee's "Goodies to Go" menu offers a selection of sandwiches that come complete with monogramed napkins and a reusable thermos. What, no candlesticks?
But making doggy bags for discerning guests isn't as easy as placing the restaurant menu items in fancy wrappings. It means thinking about what food is going to last, not get soggy, and taste good at room temperature. For the traveler, however, it means loving the attention you will undoubtedly receive from the people sitting in your row.
