[Ed.Note: City Rag was one of the chosen bloggers to head on over to Amsterdam for the Bloggers in Amsterdam trip last month. We put on our best outfit and sat down to give our friend a very serious Diane Sawyer-type of interview...over email. So here is Cityrag's lowdown on the Hotel Krasnapolsky including a few exclusive shots. Enjoy.]

HotelChatter:
You stayed at the Hotel Krasnapolsky and mentioned that you loved it? What made it so lovable (or not so lovable?)

Cityrag:
The hotel has an excellent location, right in the heart of central Amsterdam, overlooking the Dam square. Our room was large and clean with wood floors, a cool modern design - and a big and comfortable bed. The wardrobe was huge and functional, I love Dutch design.

The location might work against you in the warmer weather when the Dam is packed.

HotelChatter:
Can you give us some visuals?

Cityrag:
Our room and bathroom were distinctly modern. The lobby has a more Old-world feel with wood paneling and big furniture. After a few days we noticed the hotel has a nice homey feel.

Interview continues post-click.

HotelChatter:
Did the hotel room come with any cool amenities?

Cityrag:
Hard core porn on pay TV. And a 5 foot long bathtub.

HotelChatter:
Was there free wi-fi?

Cityrag:
Not sure, they have wi-fi but we didn't use it. And we discovered a business center with computers and internet access available for guests the day before we left.

HotelChatter:
Was the staff helpful? What about the room service breakfast?

Cityrag:
The staff was very friendly and accommodating (many people were exceptionally nice.) We had breakfast delivered to the room each morning, delicious croissants, pastries, juice, fruit salad, yogurt, a giant carafe of great coffee, with a flower and tower of jams. It was a perfect way to start the day before exploring the city.

HotelChatter:
What is there to do nearby?

Cityrag:
Couldn't be more in the heart of the city, you can walk to just about every popular attraction and neighborhood in Amsterdam. Restaurants, bars, clubs, markets, coffee shops, grocery stores are all near by. The red light district is just a couple blocks away.

HotelChatter:
Anything else we should know?

Cityrag:
If you can score a room overlooking Dam square it's a fantastic view. You can watch life unfold in Amsterdam out your window day and night. We had friends meet us at the hotel and their room was $183 a night plus taxes for the weekend. An insane bargain for the location and reputation (even in off season.)

Oh yeah...the group Jodeci was staying at the hotel in the suite on our floor for a couple days. They really ah, seemed to enjoy Amsterdam's various temptations. One night we walked in late and a member of the group was playing the grand piano in the lobby and signing one of their hits with a bunch of women around him, it was surreal!

[Thank you again for the interview Cityrag. And congratulations! You have just earned the gold star and the strawberry scratch-n-sniff sticker for Best Hotel Mavenry for this month!]
