Thinking about going to Washington D.C., with the kids for the annual National Cherry  Blossom Festival? The Williard Intercontinental is offering the Very Cherry Willard package. For $299 you get a one-night stay, plus your choice of breakfast, a room upgrade, parking or a 50 percent discount on a second room for the kids, The latter is probably the most bang for your buck.

The famous cherry blossoms were a gift from Japan in 1912, that signals the coming of Spring with an "explosion of life and color" in pink and white around the Jefferson Memorial.

The deal is in place from March 24 to April 16. The actual festival starts on March 25.

    Or ...

I personally am a bigger fan of the Hay-Adams Hotel and the deal they are offering. Both hotels are about the same distance from the Cherry Blossoms, but the views at the Hay-Adams are way cooler (plus I like the staff better).

    Should be noted...

That commenter CourtneyMay has dealings with the Hay Adams.  Not to say that their deal isn't good, just in the name of full disclosure.

Maybe you should send us side by side views from both hotels and we can let the readers decide which hotel has the better views...

    That would be cool.

    Yup

Yup, FiveStarAlliance.com chose Hay-Adams to have the partnership with in DC and it has worked out well. We also make reservations at The Williard, and they might be better for kids just because they are part of InterContinental, but I don't have any kids when I visit.
