Grammy Scoop: Mariah's Ex in Hotel Fight

Mariah Carey is getting ready to perform at the Grammys tonight, but her ex-boyfriend Luis Miguel is getting ready to go to court on March 3 for allegedly socking a bartending in the face last month at the St. Regis Resort Aspen.

Luis Miguel aka Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri is an international star who has won four Grammys and four Latin Grammys of his own. He was sitting a table in the hotel when:

William Hardy, 49, approached his table and asked him to sing a "few bars," the police report said.

"Miguel answered, 'For a thousand dollars,' and Hardy said something like, 'I wouldn't give you fifty cents,'" the police report said.

It was then tha t Miguel's bodyguard put Hardy into a choke hold. The bartender, Jason Moan, tried to break up the fight but Miguel hit him in the face with a "closed fist."

Naturalmente, Miguel and bodyguard deny everything.

We really don't care who started the fight or who hit who but the pressing question on our minds is why does Luis Miguel need a bodyguard?
