We found this little deal courtesy of National Geographic Traveler that honors the Winter Olympic games.

The two-night "Winter Olympics Package" for $1,500 at Whiteface Lodge includes:

A private one-bedroom residence with fireplace and Adirondack-style furnishings, three-day lift ticket at Whiteface Mountain, ski lesson (for adults only), afternoon cross-country skiing trail pass, ice skating at the Legendary Olympic Oval, admission to the Ski Jumping Complex, admission to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Museum, and $10 off a bobsled ride.

The hotel which relies heavily on Adirondack decor also has its very own movie theater, a game room with two antique bowling lanes, a spa suite, fitness room and an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool with hot tubs and an ice rink. Which means if you get stuck in Lake Placid, the Whiteface Lodge ain't a bad place to be.

Alas, there's no availability over President's Week but the package is good through the first week of April.
