Vikram Chatwal and the Goth Style 'N

Remember Vikram's trilogy? Vik's nocturnal revenge was scheduled to open back in December. However, the hotel still isn't open, and with Vikram scheduled to get married in India on February 18th, and then go on a "long honeymoon", our guess of a May 1, 2006 open isn't looking bulletproof.

Leave it to Vikram to be talking about what's next, before what's now is completed--remember this is the man that wants to be the first Sikh billionaire.

Next up for VC? Developing a hotel in London, one in Bangkok, converting Manhattan's 1904 Stanford White-designed Lamb's Club at 130 West 44th Street into a luxury hotel, oh, and--wait for it--more acting. Looks like Vikram's trilogy is quickly turning into a six part story.

After the jump we will break down the latest on Night Hotel including design details.

When it opens, Night will have 72 guest rooms, priced from $275 to $525 per night, with two penthouse suites going for $1,500 to $2,500 per night. An who is Night's clientele?

They like something new and stimulating. Because there are so many products out there, they look for the best value for their money.

So what will the design be like? According to architect Mark Zeff:

We're painting the building black, and on the front we'll suspend a mirrored billboard the height of the building and 14 feet wide, like a sheet of glass with a huge gothic-style 'N.

The hotel has a nighttime gothic feeling - a naughty place to go - and the branding is full of that. On the other hand, it's a little bit like an old manor house in the middle of the city - a cloister, a sanctuary.

Of course, like most boutique hotels in New York, the rooms will be small. But Zeff seems to be hopeful that black is the new big:

The interiors are minute, but for me small can be big. Making it dark and atmospheric gives it a sense of space. If you have a shadowy space you don't know where things begin and where they end."

According to Vikram's crew, tech amenities include Wi-Fi broadband, satellite radio, flat-screen TVs, DVD players and custom-designed black and white iPods. The iPods are pre-programmed with music that can be purchased on CD at checkout, but from past experiences, we will believe it when we are holding a Night iPod in our grubby little hands.

Night is located directly across the street from BMG headquarters, so expect Vikram to play heavily to big pimpin' music execs.

Just be on the lookout for a huge gothic-style 'N.
