The Viceroy Palm Springs may have been a glamorous Hollywood hideaway back in the 1930s but lately the sleek boutique has gotten some not so great reviews.

Indeed, one of our readers confessed that a recent stay had some of the worst service ever experienced, largely due to the lack of staff. An example? There was one valet man and one bartender for the entire hotel and this was during a weekend. On the plus side, what staff was there was extremely helpful and nice.

But another recent guest called it "the worst hotel I have stayed in the past 3 years." Complaints for this guest ranged from thin walls to construction noise and slow service at Citron, the hotel restaurant.

One more guest added that the bathrooms old and dingy and that the water would suddenly become scalding hot with no warning.

Take my advice though, spend the extra $75 a night and stay at the Parker [Meridian]. I know I will.
