Blue Moon Hotel Update: The Sudan & Smoking Man

Sit down for this one. An LES blogger, who has been living in the Sudan, recently visited the Blue Moon Hotel and had a conversation with a smoking man who spoke cryptically about the Blue Moon's plans. Can this hotel "opening" get any stranger?
Blogger Kurt's Martini weighs in on the infinitely delayed Blue Moon "hotel opening".
The building, located on Orchard Street, has always caught my attention because atop its original rustic tenement facade sits a hideous penthouse addition in the style of the suburban McMansion. The builder has not even bothered to use the same brickwork opting instead for tacky tan and brown ones. Sad.
Anyhow, as I peered into the lobby through the covered windows** a gentleman came out to smoke a cigarette. Always on the lookout for parental accommodations in the neighborhood, I asked him about the hotel which will open on February 15th. According to smoking man: "There's nothing typical about this hotel. You haven't see anything like it. And it cost more to build than The Hotel On Rivington."
For those of you keeping score, the smoking man says the hotel will open February 15th and be bigger than Windows, or something like that.
And, yes, we know you can "book" a room online, but if anyone actually stays here, send along pics and commentary as proof of life.
