Armani to Design More Hotels
In honor of the upcoming fashion week...
Look for Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani to be in more hotels everywhere during the next decade, at least in Dubai.
The fashion brand has agreed to build as many 30 luxury hotels with Dubai's Emaar Properties.
Initially Armani granted Emaar the right to build 10 luxury hotels, the first of which is expected to be done in 2008, but due to an unexpected demand they will triple that number as well as the investment money to $3 billion.
But this isn't just next season's hottest fashion trend according to an Armani spokesperson:
There is scope to expand our agreement. We are at the beginning of a long programme, which is also dependent on finding the right locations for the hotels in the most important cities.
Of course, Armani will oversee all design for the hotels--inside and out.
The Burj Dubai Tower, the first hotel under the agreement, is still under construction in Dubai but when completed is expected to be the world's tallest residential and commercial building.
