Checking in on Miami: Casa Casuarina

We wonder when Gianni Versace's mansion will be turned into a regular hotel instead of this private membership club.

Casa Casuarina cost $40,000 a year to belong to on top of the $5,000 a night it will cost you to stay there.

Yet there seems to be some trouble at the hotel lately, with the manager of the place recently fired for lavish spending that drained the hotel's cash supply and left it unable to pay some bills.

It was also the host of former Creed singer Scott Stapp's recent wedding which took a bad turn when the couple left for their honeymoon and Stapp was arrested for public intoxication at LAX.

Not that we believe in curses or anything but maybe Versace is pissed. Peter Loftin, the billionaire who bought the place in 2000, better be careful.
