HotelChatter has deep and mysterious ties to the world of Hollywood. Sometimes, when we are out in the beautiful Los Angeles smogshine picking up an iced mocha blended from the the Coffee Bean, a black van rolls up and we are grabbed off the street and stuffed into the back next to a snarling rottweiler, while our masked captors ask us life and death questions like, "What hotel in Calgary do you recommend? It has to be hip and there must be a bar--now talk!"

When we try to inquire about who exactly needs a hip hotel bar in Calgary, boiling water is poured over our hands and we are shoved up next to a computer to begin our search--yeah we are on a need to know basis, and we don't need to know.

But nevertheless it's safe to say that one of the three A's in Hollywood is looking for our help in picking a cool Calagary hotel--that's either an agent, an assistant, or an actor.

So we went to work and uncovered the option of the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire. As the name implies, it's an all-suite hotel and it's ranked #1 on TripAdvisor's picks for the city.

We have never seen such glowing reviews on that site before, with people raving about everything from the rooms to the service to the low price.

Yet, when we presented this choice to our captors, it was promptly rejected and instead replaced with The Westin Calgary.

While we hadn't heard much about this alternate choice, the hotel definitely seems to be a hip spot. In fact, the hotel's bar the O.N. Bar & Grill has its own web site.

Inside the rooms (traditional, deluxe or suites) are the Westin's Heavenly Beds which have an allergen-free duvet, 10 inch pillow top mattress and five large goose down pillows.

The hotel also has guestrooms for those who want to workout in the privacy of their rooms and is large enough to fit in a cardio machine of their choice. Perfect for the self-aggrandized Hollywood set, er, we mean, our captors.

Another plus for those wary of the paparazzi is the hotel's secured parking in the back of the building with only "inconspicous signs" near the entrance.

Regular rooms for the little people start at about $300 a night.

Feel free to guess who this Calgary hotel guest is in the comments section below, and remember, the truth is out there.
